I'm Woody Guthrie

This fortnight's New Statesman column is on Jeff Lewis - and briefly recaps anti-folk - and I'm actually quite pleased with it for once. I'll sonic tryptophan you in a minute...

  1. I like Cat Power, heard her somewhere, don't know where. Nice column, laying the smack on KT I see. I don't get when she's even folk: four of her five singles haven't been the slightest bit folk, just accoustic guitar pop anthems or ballads. I was listening to her when ill, if she's folk then so is Dariush Danesh.

Hard to see where folk ends and soft rock begins, but I agree, KT tunstall is NOT folk.
