Horses in the sky, heroes on the stage
A review of A Silver Mt Zion at Koko last week, for y'all that were wondering. Their new stuff is immense. They are immense.
I never thought I'd say this after feeling underwhelmed - and almost a little confused - by their initial releases, but I think they might just be as important, and as ground-breaking, as Godspeed were.
There aren't many bands that can excite me live anymore, as ATP proved - (The Gossip, Sleater Kinney, and Lightning Bolt were brilliant, most others just left me rather cold) - but ASMZ had us totally absorbed for two hours.
